FAQ’s
  1. Who can camp at Hollinwood Scout Camp?
  • The campsite is open to use by members of the Scout and Guide associations.
  • Please ensure you have the correct Nights Away permit, currently the site is classed as GREEN FIELD for Scout NAN permits.
  • However, please feel free to contact us via Facebook as we may be able to accommodate you.


  1. What are you opening days / times
  • If we have staff available then we can accommodate you
  • Weekends are always available
  • Evenings must be negotiated prior to attending
  • Please book with us first in all circumstances


  1. What are Hollinwood Scout Camp’s prices?
  • Camping; £3.00 per person per night (including adults)
  • Day / Evening; £1.50 per person per evening (including adults)


  1. Are dogs allowed on site?
  • Whilst we love our 4-legged friends sadly we do not allow dogs on site


  1. How do we pay?
  • You can pay a number of ways:
    • In cash on the day of your visit
    • By balance transfer to
      • Lloyd's Bank
      • Account Number: 63483060
      • Sort Code: 30-98-97
      • lease put your group name in the reference.
    • Cheque payable to ‘Hollinwood Scout Camp’
    • Please ensure to get a receipt from a member of staff


  1. How do we get to Hollinwood?
  • If driving please use M308JQ in your sat nav. this will take you to Grange Road in Winton
    • Drive down Grange Road and follow the road over the M60 motorway
    • Drive through Grange Farm
    • Go through the large green gate (if locked please contact us via Facebook)
    • Continue for 2km
    • Each time you get to a junction / fork always turn or head right
    • There are signs for Hollinwood Scout Camp
  • There is also map on our Facebook page
  • Please car share where possible as parking spaces are limited


  1. I need to speak to someone urgently, how can I do this?
  • Message us directly on our Facebook group and someone will respond
  • Please leave your phone number if you want one of the team to ring you


  1. Can we book a particular site?
  • If it’s available then you can choose a site. This will be confirmed at booking


  1. Can we have open fires?
  • As a Scout campsite we encourage fires
  • However, please ensure fires are off the ground and in the fire barrels that a member of staff can provide (free of charge)
  • In summer there is a particular danger with grass fires and so all fires must be supervised by a leader


  1. What about firewood?
  • Natural firewood is available in bags (£2 per bag) from a member of staff


  1. My group would like to do some work at Hollinwood
  • Great! Jobs are always available and we encourage all members to participate in helping each time they visit – please see a member of staff
  1. What about a service crew weekend?
  • Even better! If you would like to camp at Hollinwood then you can do so for free providing it is part of a recognised service weekend. Please contact us via Facebook to see what we can arrange
  • If you’d like to make this a regular arrangement then this can also be sorted out i.e. once a month/quarter/6 months etc.
  1. Is there any indoor accommodation?
  • No not as yet 
    • Are there toilets and showers?
    • We have a (clean!) portaloo but no showers yet.
    • We are fundraising £140,000 to build this
    1. Do you have a mains water supply?
    • No. YOU WILL NEED TO BRING YOUR OWN
    • Peel are putting mains water in to site this year.
